Andhra Pradesh, deputy chief minister, Pawan Kalyan has delivered a strong and resounding verdict to the members of Telugu film industry. This is in view of the recent theatres bandh that was called by the exhibition sector.

Frustrated with these developments, the deputy chief minister has written to the Telugu film industry and used a hard set of words to explain his intentions. He used the citation of the previous government and the kind of pressure that it exerted on the film industry to prove his point.

Top actors, directors, and technicians in the Telugu film industry faced a lot of trouble and insults during the previous government. It seems like important film organizations like the Telugu Film Chamber, Producers’ Council, and Movie Artists Association have forgotten these incidents, Kalyan stated a

Movies made with investments of several crores need full support. Also, people working in this creative industry must be treated with respect. Before the elections, leaders like Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan clearly said that the government should not act with bias or personal revenge.

But the previous government targeted individuals. They created problems for films of people they didn’t like sometimes even sent officials like Tahsildars to theatres during releases to cause trouble. How can producers forget this?

In contrast, the current coalition government has shown that it treats everyone equally. For example, even when a film related to Akkineni Nagarjuna’s family released, the Andhra Pradesh government supported it properly. The coalition believes the system must be fair and should not trouble the people who depend on it, the communication from the DCM’s office read.
