The deputy chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan is back in action now but this time, it is Telangana and the repercussions are pretty strong already. Kalyan added that at a time when the Congress government led by the late YSR, was opposed to the formation of Telangana, he openly supported the aspirations of the Telangana people and gave a call for a “Samajika Telangana”. My support for Telangana was never driven by political expediency. It was guided by conviction and a belief that the democratic aspirations of the people deserved recognition and respect, Kalyan stated.

The stand I took then reflects my unwavering commitment to Telangana and its people. My support for Telangana statehood was not a matter of politics, it was a matter of principle, he concluded on this matter. This is a strong vocal statement from Pawan Kalyan, and it could have a pretty significant impact on Telangana political system as well.
