The Tirumala laddu issue has taken a new twist after the involvement of chief minister Chandrababu and deputy CM Pawan Kalyan. In this regard, Kalyan had a series of shocking comments to make.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has alleged a major scam in the preparation of Tirumala Srivari Laddu prasadam during the previous YSRCP government, claiming that adulterated materials were used instead of pure ghee.
He said palm oil and harmful chemicals replaced ghee, which not only compromised the faith of devotees but also posed health risks.
Highlighting the scale of the issue, he stated that a company officially supplied 59.70 lakh kg of ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, but records show that the same company procured over 58 lakh kg of palm oil and plant-based products along with 1.7–2 lakh kg of chemicals. Pawan questioned why a ghee supplier would need such massive quantities of substitutes.
He further alleged that one lakh laddus sent to Ayodhya for the Ram Mandir consecration were also prepared using the adulterated material, describing it as deeply hurtful to Hindu sentiments.
Pawan accused the previous government of animosity toward God and Hindu traditions and emphasized that exposing the truth is his responsibility.
He clarified that while the issue reached the Supreme Court, the CBI has not given any clean chit at any stage. Speaking at a press meet in Undavalli after a coalition leaders’ meeting, his statements have sparked strong political reactions across the state.
