Very often we hear that there is a pay gap between heroes and heroines in the film industry. However, it appears that the pay gap is not restricted to the film industry and a big industry is also facing the same. A new study has found out the big differences between the pay.

As per the recent study of TeamLease Digital, women employees in tech jobs get around 22-30 percent less than that of male employees. Due to the growing demand the pay disparity has increased in the tech jobs to such a level.

While there is a difference in pay scales in the tech industry the difference in pay is over 10 percent in job profiles like product manager, data scientist, fullstack engineer, data engineer, and DevOps. The difference is around 10-17 percent.

The difference is even higher when it comes to freshers. Women employees earn around 15.38 percent less than that of male employees in this department. It looks like the disparity starts at an early level in the industry.

The study found that the differences are quite high in technical and leadership. As the employees go through the ranks the disparity increases further. Employees in higher positions are also not safe from this, the study said.

The report sheds light on a serious issue. Tech space is where we see more and more women employees joining. In almost every office we can see employees in significant numbers and despite this, there is a pay gap.

In the coming years, women employees are expected to see an uptick in their representation in tech jobs. On the flip side, the study found that there is a big gap between the pay they receive. Be it freshers or employees holding big spoutions the same is the case.
