If we compare the working style of Indian employees with that of the European counterpart, there is a lot of dissimilarities here. It can perhaps be argued that there is not even a single reference point between these two working conditions.

For instance, we have Indians who work more than 10 hours a day and are ready to take an additional jobs, even for additional hours as well. This has come from years of extensive working conditions, which have completely changed the Indian working mindset.

Now we have the case of union commerce minister Piyush Goyal, who had made a very problematic comment in this regard. He publicly commented that Indian employees do not ask for additional leaves and they are ready to work for even extra hours if the need comes up.

This public statement from the commerce minister has immediately gone badly on social media as people are commenting that it is not right for a cabinet minister to speak about the poor working conditions in India.

There are already complaints about life balance in India as companies expect their workers to be on the job for more than 12 hours a day which is against the human regulations.

For reference, we have the case of European work culture where they will be completely unavailable for the job after eight hours work, which is the standard procedure there. But the situation is the exact opposite in India as the working hours can go up to more than 12 hours a day.

So, rather than actually putting effort to take down the working style in India and bring better control the union commerce Minister proudly speaking about this in the public forum has drawn criticism.
