Something extremely shocking and horrifying has happened in Andhra Pradesh, as multiple individuals have reportedly been killed in an alleged milk contamination incident.

A heartbreaking tragedy has shaken Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh, where at least five people have died due to suspected adulterated milk.

Residents of Chowdeeswar Nagar, Swaroop Nagar and Diwancheruvu near Lalacheruvu began falling sick after consuming milk supplied by a local vendor on February 15, the day of Maha Shivaratri.

Families said the milk and curd tasted unusually bitter, but they did not realize the danger at first. Within hours, several people developed severe stomach pain, diarrhoea and abdominal bloating. Some victims were unable to pass urine, and doctors later identified acute renal failure in many of them.

Among those who lost their lives are senior citizens Bassetti Kanakadurga aged 76, Tadi Krishna Veni aged 85, N Seshagiri Rao aged 72 and Radha Krishnamurthy aged 74. At least five more people remain in critical condition, including four children, which has raised even more concern.

Since February 15, around 14 people have been hospitalized with similar symptoms. Shockingly, authorities reportedly took notice only after deaths were reported in the media. The incident has left the community devastated and demanding strict action against those responsible for this fatal negligence.

The incident has grabbed the attention of chief minister Chandrababu, who expressed his deepest condolences. He further announced that the government would be providing ₹10,00,000 compensation to each of the family members, and the medical expenses will also be covered.
