Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy had earlier promised to established the statue of senior NTR in Ameerpet back when he was camping for the Jubilee Hills election. When asked to provide an update on the same here is what he had to say.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy strongly emphasized that legendary actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao should be regarded as a national treasure, not the property of any single party or family.

Highlighting the Congress party’s role in honoring his legacy, Revanth noted that it was Congress that ensured the installation of NTR’s statue in Parliament, reinforcing his stature as a leader respected across political lines.

Revanth Reddy further clarified that he is still very much cemented on the earlier announcement of setting up the NTR statue in Ameerpet and said the work would be initiated soon.

The Chief Minister’s comments are being seen as an attempt to underline NTR’s national significance while also positioning Congress as a party that recognizes leaders.

Apart from speaking about NTR, Revanth Reddy shared updates on infrastructure development, announcing that foundation stones for airports in Adilabad and Warangal will be laid on June 2.

On the political front, he addressed speculation surrounding former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, stating that any action, including a possible arrest, would strictly follow the law and the Constitution.

Referring to the phone tapping controversy, he said the issue has only reached its “first chapter” and assured that his government is not engaged in surveillance, calling such acts mental harassment.
