Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy is fast realizing that running the state administration is no cakewalk and that he needs the unstinted support of the IAS and the IPS officers to run the state. Despite several IAS officers working totally hand-in-glove with the former BRS government, he can neither remove them nor ignore them. So, he has chosen the best possible alternative – live with them.

After he became the chief minister, Revanth Reddy has organized two programmes for the bureaucrats. On New Years Day, he met all the bureaucrats at a party and interacted with them. Now, within a month of that programme, he has got another dinner meeting organized for them. This time, the meeting was convened by chief secretary Santhi Kumari. Revanth interacted with the officials and reportedly sought their support for his government’s schemes.

Revanth knows fully well that several IAS officers have worked almost like BRS workers. Some were always seen with the BRS ministers even after their duty hours sorting out things for them. He also knows that there is no way he can ignore them. So, he has reportedly decided to reach out to them and seek their help and assistance. This automatically means that there would be no immediate action against any of the officers, who he had labelled pro-BRS.

Interestingly, none of the IAS or IPS officers, who were openly backing the BRS, have been victimized so far. Some have indeed been posted to insignificant departments. But, no action has been initiated against any of them. Also, none of the state cadre IAS or IPS officers sought central government deputation after Revanth Reddy came to power. This shows that Revanth believes that conciliation not confrontation is the key.
