As is known, the mega auction for the coming season of IPL 2025 is underway now and this is one of the significant developments regarding the coming season. The auction has gotten underway a few minutes back and there are already some serious developments.

A short while back, Shreyas Iyer briefly became the costliest player in the history of IPL by selling to Punjab for Rs 26.75 crore. But this record was broken in the immediate next round by Rishabh Pant.

Pant is sold to Lucknow for a mighty price of Rs 27 crore and this is the highest price paid ever for a cricketer in the IPL. This is beyond measure and needs to be celebrated big time, considering the kind of noise Pant made prior to the auction.

Left-handed wicket keeper batsman Pant has now scripted history as the biggest buy in all of IPL and it would take some doing to break this record in the future. This is a mega deal and Pant has surely turned multi fold richer with this mega offering from Lucknow.

Pant could now be captaining the Lucknow side in the IPL after the departure of KL Rahul who was their skipper for the last two years. Pant's move to Lucknow comes with a whole lot of anticipation and excitement.
