The 2024 edition of IPL came as a big surprise to many as Rohit Sharma is not the skipper of Mumbai Indians. In a shocking turn of events, Rohit Sharma was replaced by Hardik Pandya. His fans could not accept this as the team lifted the IPL trophy five times under his captaincy.

We have seen how MI fans expressed their anger towards Hardik Pandya in the stadiums a few times. The seniors also gave their take on this. Despite so much happening, Rohit Sharma did not talk about the issue.

Finally, Rohit Sharma responded to this. He held a press conference along with Senior Men’s Selection Committee chairman Ajit Agarkar. The two came before the press as the squad was announced for the T20 World Cup. They faced interesting questions on various topics.

When asked about the same, Rohit Sharma gave a mature response. He said that it is part of the game and today he is the captain of the Indian team and he might not be the skipper in the future. Things won't happen as we need them to.

I have played under other players earlier too. I always try to give my best as a player. I have been doing the same for the past one month, Rohit Sharma added.

“I have played under a lot of captains before in my life. So, this is nothing new to me. You go with it and do what is required as a player and that's what I have done for the last month,” Rohit Sharma said at the conference.

Rohit Sharma is carrying a lot of expectations for the T20 World Cup as this could be the last World Cup. In the 2023 World Cup, India ended up as the runner-up. This time Indian fans want Men In Blue to lift the trophy.
