Samsung Trolls Apple After Apple Enters Foldable Phone Market
Apple has finally entered the foldable smartphone market, and Samsung was quick to react.
Apple has finally entered the foldable smartphone market, and Samsung was quick to react. After years of promoting its Galaxy foldable phones, Samsung used the launch of Apple’s first foldable iPhone to take another playful dig at its biggest rival.
Apple introduced the iPhone Duo on September 9, 2026. It is the company’s first foldable iPhone and comes with a starting price of $1,999 in the US. In India, the phone starts at ₹2,99,900. This makes it one of Apple’s most expensive smartphones.
Soon after the launch, Samsung Mobile US posted a message on X. The company wrote, “Let us know when you're done reheating our leftovers.” The comment was aimed at Apple for entering a market where Samsung has already spent several years.
Samsung has been making foldable smartphones since 2019, when it introduced the first Galaxy Fold. Since then, the company has launched many Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip models.
This is not the first time Samsung has made fun of Apple over foldable phones. In the past, Samsung used the line “Let us know when it folds” while promoting its own foldable devices. Now Apple has finally launched a foldable iPhone, giving Samsung a chance to bring back the old rivalry.
The iPhone Duo has a 5.4-inch outer display. When opened, it becomes a larger 7.6-inch screen. The phone has a titanium design, an A20 Pro chip and a 48MP dual-camera system. Apple has also changed iOS 27 to make better use of the bigger display.
The price is another major talking point. The 256GB model costs ₹2,99,900 in India. The 512GB version is priced at ₹3,24,900. The 1TB model costs ₹3,74,900, while the 2TB version comes at ₹4,49,900. Pre-orders will begin on October 16, with sales starting October 23.
Although Apple is late to the foldable market, its strong iPhone user base could help it. Many customers already use Apple products and services, which may make the new phone attractive to them.
Samsung has more experience with foldable technology, while Apple has a strong ecosystem and loyal customers. The competition between the two companies is now entering a new stage.
For years, Samsung joked about Apple not having a foldable phone. Now Apple has finally folded and Samsung has already found a new joke to continue the rivalry.
