As per the information a satsang was held at Hathras in Uttar Pradesh. In an unwanted development, a stampede erupted creating a big chaos. Hundreds of devotees faced issues with this with some of them getting trapped.
Due to this more than 100 people breathed their last. The bodies were sent to the postmortem following the procedure. The injured victims were taken to the hospital facility for treatment. The fatality count might increase further.
It is reported that there was overcrowding at the event. While leaving the event the stampede took place which led to a disaster. While 100 people died, double the number of people are believed to have sustained injuries. We might get the final numbers soon.
The Uttar Pradesh government swung into action already. The rescue operation was called by the government to bring the bodies out and shift the injured victims to safety.
An inquiry was also called by the government to look into the reasons behind this. Hindustan Times said that people attended the Satsang meeting held by Bhole Baba. People gathered in big numbers. While leaving the place after the event the chaos is said to have happened.
