It's Official: Sharmila Formally Merges Party Into Congress!

Will Sharmila join the Congress party? Will the YSR's daughter merge her party into Congress to start a new path in her political journey? These are the doubts many have for the past few days. Media reports are also doing rounds hinting at the same. She left for Delhi the other day.

Giving a big clarity on this Sharmila joined the Congress party and merged her party into Congress. She was formally inducted into the Congress party by National Chief Mallikarjun Kharge. Former Chief Rahul Gandhi was also present on the occasion.

Kharge formally invited Sharmila into the Congress party by presenting her with the party shawl. After this Sharmila said that she was happy that she became part of the Congress party and said she would work hard.

Despite YS Sharmila formally joining the Congress party there is no clarity on what position she would be given by the Congress leadership. Recently it was reported that Sharmila might be made the state chief or given any big post in the AICC. If everything goes well she might get two posts.

The Congress party which won elections in Karnataka and Telangana wants to revive the party in AP. For this, it wants known faces. Sharmila might be the perfect pick for the congress. She is the daughter of YSR who has a special image among the people. Her image as YSR's daughter might come in handy. It is being reported that Sharmila might contest the elections from the Pulivendula seat

Around two years after floating her party, she formally merged into Congress. YSRTP was started in 2021 and she went on a massive yatra covering thousands of kilometers. Her Walkathon even made her enter the Indian Book Of Records.
