The elections are approaching in Andhra Pradesh and the parties are already busy with the campaign and other activities.
The elections are approaching in Andhra Pradesh and the parties are already busy with the campaign and other activities. The parties almost gave clarity on their candidates. While the YCP announced candidates in a single phase, the other parties are announcing in a phased manner
The grand old Congress party did not announce the candidates yet. Now it is said that the party found a few candidates including AP PCC chief YS Sharmila. The Congress CEC called for a meeting. The likes of Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge,CPP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, State chief Sharmila and others were present at the meeting.
The media reports say that Sharmila would make the Kadapa seat interesting by taking on Avinash Reddy, her cousin. It is said that Sharmila will be the Kadapa candidate for Congress.
If this happens then it would be a big fight to look for. Kadapa is the strong region of Congress in the combined state and YCP captured it. YS Avinash Reddy is the sitting MP now. Now Sharmila is likely to be the candidate.
On one hand, YS Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Sunitha has been fighting for justice in the case. At regular intervals, she targets Avinash Reddy and alleges that he is being protected in the murder case.
Earlier it was reported that Sunitha might contest the elections. But now the Congress party might field Sharmila as the candidate from the Kadapa seat. Sunitha might help her in this is what many say.
AP's political picture started seeing big scenes with Sharmila joining Congress. After becoming the state chief she has been targeting YS Jagan and his party. The face-off between Sharmila and YCP is getting all the attention and raising many eyeballs.
On the other hand, Congress is likely to announce Gidugu Rudra Raju from Rajahmundry, Former Minister JD Seelam from Bapatla, Pallam Raju(Kakinada), and Sathya Reddy(Vizag). Reports are doing rounds on this.
