The rape and murder case of a doctor in Kolakata is the burning issue in the country which triggered protests by doctors in various parts of the country. A few doctors' organizations came forward to stand in solidarity with the cause. The case was handed over to the CBI by the Court.

Ever since the issue came to light a few conspiracy theories started doing rounds and shocking reports popped up. However, the Police Department rubbished the reports and urged everyone to not spread fake information without confirmation. The Police department already ruled out fractures and other angles.

Amid this, a 2022 survey is getting everyone’s attention which talks about how often rapes happen in the country. On average a rape happens every 16.6 minutes in the country. This is the stats in the country. However, a few states have bigger numbers compared to other states.

As per the data gathered by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Rajasthan has the most problematic numbers as rape happens every one hour 37 minutes. Uttar Pradesh is at the second place with 2 hours and 22 minutes followed by Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

On a scale of rape frequency, these states have the problematic numbers. Talking about Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh sees an attack every 14 hours and 6 minutes while the number is 10 Hours and 45 Minutes in Telangana.

Attacks on women every few hours is very concerning and speaks volumes about the sad state of women. We have a few strict laws but none of them are helping in bringing down the attacks.

There are a few states and Union Territories that have the best numbers in this. Ladakh is at the top with 70 days followed by Nagaland (52d 3hr) and Puducherry (40d 13h). These regions might be faring well compared to others. But if we look at the overall country the numbers are quite shocking.
