6 Berths Remaining: Double The Number of Leaders In Race?
The recent election result fulfilled the dream of the grand old Congress to come to power in the divided state of Telangana.
The recent election result fulfilled the dream of the grand old Congress to come to power in the divided state of Telangana. The party tried to win the 2014 and 2018 elections, but it could not. But things fell into place for the party and it came to power in the elections and formed the government.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and a few other Cabinet Ministers took oath earlier last week. Besides Revanth, 11 Cabinet Ministers took oath and they were allocated portfolios as well. With this, the focus went on to the remaining slots in the Cabinet.
Six slots are remaining in the Cabinet and it is said that there is a big race for the place. It is said that double the number of leaders are in the race and we might get clarity on this soon.
As per the reports, leaders like Shabbir Ali, Firoz Khan, Mynampally Hanumanth Rao, Sudarshan Reddy, Anjan Kumar Yadav, Malreddy Ranga Reddy, Vivek, Vinod, Madan Mohan Rao, Madhu Yaskhi, Addanki Dayakar and Balu Naik are in the race for the remaining slots.
Interestingly, the list includes leaders who could not win the elections. Despite not winning elections they can be given the portfolios. So the losing candidates still have the chance to make it to the Cabinet under the leadership of Revanth Reddy.
Talking about the cabinet, it was made considering various aspects like good representation of communities. Reddy, BC, SC, ST, Brahmin, and a few other communities were given a chance in the cabinet. A few other communities might get a spot as per the representation.
Congress came to power after a long time and it cannot take any risk. To see that no community gets offended, a few communities were given Cabinet berths and other communities might get the turn. Minorities did not get the slot so far and one berth might be fixed for the community and one person might get a chance.
