Another shock soon for the ruling YSRCP ?
Sitting MLA of Thatikonda, Undavalli Sridevi is all set to leave the YSRCP and join the TDP.
Is the ruling YSRCP in for a shock in the capital region of Amaravati? Yes, say those in the know. Sitting MLA of Thatikonda, Undavalli Sridevi is all set to leave the YSRCP and join the TDP. Sridevi met Chandrababu Naidu during his visit to Srikakulam and reportedly discussed about her political future.
If all goes well, she would join the TDP during the padayatra of Lokesh in the Thatikonda assembly constituency. Sridevi, a medical professional, entered politics and emerged as a Jagan loyalist. She was given the ticket in the 2019 elections and she had won handsomely from Thatikonda. However, she became controversial due to some of her actions.
She began complaining against what she called the interference of MP Nandigam Suresh in the affairs of her constituency. Adding to this, the party appointed former minister Dokka Manikya Varaprasad as the constituency incharge. This was a direct challenge to her leadership. Stung by the decision, she cross-voted during the recent MLC elections leading to the shock defeat of the YSRCP candidate.
As soon as the MLC election results were out, the party suspended her. Since then, she has been critical of her own party. She levelled serious allegations against the party and its key leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. Sources say that Sridevi has prepared ground to join the Telugu Desam Party at the right time.
