Putting an end to the long wait, the World Cup schedule was announced by the ICC. The tournament will start on the 1st of June and the finale is scheduled on the 29th of the same month. Barbados will be the host for the intense finale.
There are four groups in the tournament. As per the schedule, the league matches will be played in the initial stage while the two semi-finals are scheduled on June 26 and 27 respectively.
The United States and West Indies are the joint hosts of the tournament. As many as six venues were picked from West Indies while three venues in America will host the matches. It is going to be a new experience for the fans to witness the matches in the beautiful stadiums.
Talking about India, the men in Blue will start the tournament by locking horns with Ireland on the 5th of June. Cut to four days, India will face arch-rivals Pakistan. India will play all its league matches in the United States.
There are four groups in the tournament and the fight between the teams in the group is going to be intense to have the upper hand. Group A: India, Pakistan, USA, Canada and Ireland. Group B: England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland and Oman. Group C: New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda and Papua New Guinea. Group D: South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Netherlands.
