Tarun Chugh’s AP Visit Crucial For Allaince Episode?
The ruling YSRCP has the clarity on how to go to elections as it is going alone. But the same clarity is missing from the opposition parties.
The much-awaited Election episode was done and dusted in the youngest state in the Country, Telangana, and the new government took charge. With this, the focus is shifted to another Telugu state Andhra Pradesh which is slated to go for the general elections in a few months.
The ruling YSRCP has the clarity on how to go to elections as it is going alone. But the same clarity is missing from the opposition parties. Janasena and Bharatiya Janata Party are officially in alliance. BJP leaders said this many times. Telangana BJP Chief Kishan Reddy said the same recently.
On the other hand, Janasena officially announced an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party. Both parties are working hard to come up with strategies to go together for elections, seat sharing, and others.
So there is no clarity on whether the three parties will walk together like they did in 2014 or only two will face elections. The interesting thing is that both TDP and BJP are interested in walking with Janasena despite Pawan Kalyan’s party not showing any big impact in the elections.
Recently reports said that the BJP is reportedly showing interest in joining hands with TDP and Janasena which created an opinion that a 2014-like situation might happen if everything goes well. However, there is no official confirmation of this.
Now the AP BJP is said to be adamant about getting clarity on the alliance episode. BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh might come to Vijayawada to attend the Core Committee meeting to get clarity.
Before this, the AP BJP is likely to call for a crucial meeting on this. During the meeting, the leadership might seek the opinion of the leaders on whether or not to go for alliances. Their opinion might play a key role in this alliance episode.
Talking about BJP, it has been trying hard to enter AP. But the efforts did not pay off as it could not win at least one election. Forget about winning new seats it could not even retain its MLC seat. This is the sad state of the party. If it has to make any big performance it needs others support.
Moreover, seat sharing is also a crucial aspect of the alliance. If BJP also comes in then TDP and Janasena should sacrifice some seats. Considering all the aspects many say that Tarun Chugh’s visit would be crucial for the alliance.
