The attack on Telugu Desam Party (TDP) headquarters in Mangalagiri in the last term came as a big sensation. The attack increased the political heat in the state as TDP sought the union government to intervene in the issue. The investigation started to see a good pace after the government changed in Andhra Pradesh.

In what could be a sensational development the Mangalagiri Police served notice to as many as 85 YCP leaders. As reported by NTV the notices were served to the leaders and accused.

Mangalagiri Rural Police served the notices. The accused who earlier received notices were supposed to appear before the cops on the 21st of this month. However, they did not attend the hearing. With this, the Mangalagiri Police wants to take the opinion of higher officials on how to go forward.

The Police mentioned as many as 120 people as the accused in the case. And 85 people were served the notices. Only around 25 people appeared before the cops. Action might be taken against them for ignoring the notices and not attending the questioning.

It is said that the Police served lookout notices were served to a few accused. On the other hand, the statements of gunmen who earlier worked with the YCP leaders like Ministers and legislators were also recorded by the cops.

So far a few people have been arrested by the cops. A few YCP leaders filed anticipatory bail petitions with the court and we might get clarity on the petitions soon.
