From Ayyannapatrudu To Gorantla Buchaiah No Place For Seniors!
It is common to expect them to get a spot. But they were denied a chance in the cabinet.
When the results were declared in Andhra Pradesh, the focus went on to the TDP to see how the Cabinet would be and who would find a place. Many felt that seniors would get a preference as they have been with the party in every thick and thin. Observers also predicted the same.
We have the likes of Gorantla Buchiah Chowdary, Ayyannapatrudu, Dhulipala Narendra, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Bonda Uma, Kanna Lakshminarayana, Paritala Sunitha and others. Some leaders joined YCP from TDP.
It is common to expect them to get a spot. But they were denied a chance in the cabinet. In what could be a surprise the seniors were not given a chance and freshers were picked. As many as 17 new faces were inducted in the Cabinet and there are three women Ministers.
For a very long time, TDP has been giving chances to the seniors in the cabinet. We can find seniors in the Cabinet in both NTR and CBN terms. But things are different now. CBN opted for new faces this time. It looks like the decision was taken keeping the long term goals.
Making young faces Ministers would make the party strong and they would be the strength for the party. Focusing only on seniors might not give a good outcome in the long term.
Another thing is that the majority of seniors are over 60 and this might have also played a key role in this. However, we cannot ignore the fact that the seniors come with a lot of experience and knowledge. To see that they won't leave the party they should be given key posts. Let us wait and see what happens.
Earlier Gorantla Buchiah Chowdary expressed his dissatisfaction with the party alleging that their opinions are ignored and it was reported that he would leave the party as well. But that did not happen. TDP bounced back and it cannot take any risk now.
