IT is one of the biggest sectors in the country and there are big players in the spectrum who help the country grow further. We cannot see the country progressing in IT without their hard work. The seeds the firms have planted earlier are yielding good results now.

When we talk about the largest conglomerate in India Tata comes to our mind given its vast range. It is into various fields including IT. Tata entered the IT space. TCS was founded back in 2004 which is getting bigger and bigger with each passing year. TCS is among the tech giants we have in the country.

Since its inception, TCS has been recruiting new employees. Every year we see the tech giant recruiting new employees. But the trend was broken for the first time in 19 years. The headcount in TCS saw a dip for the first time and this led to a decline in the employee count.

As per the information, in the financial year 2023-24, TCS recorded a dip in headcount by as many as 13,249. In the previous year, TCS had 6,14,795 employees and due to the dip, the employee count was restricted to 601,546.

It is strange that TCS which is known for taking new employees in big numbers every year had to see a decline. No one would have predicted that TCS would face a day that it would see a decline in the employee count.

Looking at the reasons for this, the experts say that the dip in demand for the IT sector and the financial instability might have led to this. We have been seeing how IT firms and giants are removing employees. Not just in India, the same is the case with the world. It looks like TCS also could not escape from it.
