Why 92 Lakh Voters In Trouble In Telangana?
Telangana is one of the biggest South Indian states in terms of electoral population as this state has nearly 4 crore voters in total.
Telangana is one of the biggest South Indian states in terms of electoral population as this state has nearly 4 crore voters in total. However, the latest SIR drive that is being carried out by the central election commission is creating a few doubts on the authenticity of these votes.
It is being established that the latest reverification drive that has been completed by the election commission has resulted in more than 92 lakh votes getting flagged in Telangana.
According to the election commission CEO, around 2.64 crore voters submitted enumeration forms during the revision process. Following the SIR exercise, around 73 lakh names have been excluded from the electoral roll.
The EC releases the draft list on Monday, August 17, following which lakhs of electors will receive notices in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision. The notices will be issued to both unmapped voters and electors whose details have anomalies.
The water can provide any of the 11 documented verifications that are allowed by the election commission in order to prove their authenticity of votes. Once the authenticity is established, these votes will be added to the final list.
This is going to be one of the most elaborate electoral procedures in recent times in Indian history as nearly one out of every four voters in Telangana are under the question now.
Considering the volume of the voters that are also under the radar, Telangana could be witnessing significant change up in the electoral outcome in the next election.
