When the Indian athletes moved to Paris for the prestigious Olympics there were many expectations on them. Out of all the athletes a few carried a lot of expectations given their stint in other events. A two-time World Champion was among them. However, the athletes had to face an early exit from the Olympics.
Star in making Nikhat Zareen was expected to win a medal in the Olympics. But her stint did not last too long as she was eliminated from the pre-quarter finals. She faced the Chinese boxer in the round and was eliminated.
Nikhat Zareen faced China's Wu Yu in the pre-quarterfinals. Though the Indian boxer had an early lead in the first round, the Chinese boxer bounced back and defeated Nikhat.
In the unanimous decision, the Chinese boxer was declared the winner while Nikhat Zareen was knocked out of the event. In the events, the Chinese boxer dominated the Indian boxer and was declared the winner.
Nikhat represented India in the women's 50 kg category at the Olympics. However, she could not defeat the Chinese Boxer and got knocked out of the Olympics. His stint was short-lived as she was knocked out.
