Congress to win 10 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, says survey
Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy would score over his counterpart from Karnataka – Siddaramaiah in the Lok Sabha election results
Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy would score over his counterpart from Karnataka – Siddaramaiah in the Lok Sabha election results. While the Congress will put up a creditable show in Telangana, the BJP juggernaut will crush Congress in Karnataka. Karnataka and Telangana are the only two states where the Congress is in power on its own. It shares power with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in Jharkhand.
According to the India Today Mood of the Nation Survey, the results of which were declared on Thursday, the Congress will win 10 of the 17 seats. The BJP will win three seats. Thus, it would lose one of the four seats it had won in the 2019 elections. The MIM will win the Hyderabad seat, while the BRS, which was in power till recently, will end up with three seats. It will be down from nine seats it had held in the 2019 elections.
The BJP will win 24 of the 28 seats in Karnataka almost repeating its 2019 electoral performance. The Congress and the Janata Dal will win the remaining four seats. Thus, it would be a loss of face for the Congress in Karnataka, where it had come to power only a year ago. Tamil Nadu and Kerala too could witness INDI alliance sweep. All the 20 seats in Kerala and 38 in Tamil Nadu would go into the INDI kitty.
The Mood of the Nation survey is a biennial affair of the India Today group. The latest edition is based on a survey of 35,801 respondents chosen from all Lok Sabha seats in the country. According to the India Today group, the poll was conducted between December 15, 2023, and January 28, 2024. The MOTN survey is predicting a facile BJP victory in the Lok Sabha elections, with the saffron party almost reaching its 2019 tally of 305 seats.
