Telangana went for the general elections the other day. All the Assembly constituencies in the state went through the ballot box fight. The election body made all the required arrangements for the polls. Barring a few incidents the elections concluded peacefully.
A day after the elections were held, Telangana chief electoral officer (CEO) Vikas Raj spoke about the polling percentage in the state. He said that the voting percentage was 70.79 percent which was less than the 2028 edition of polls.
Adding further, the CEO said 73.37 percent was recorded in the last elections and this time only 70.79 percent was recorded. Vote from the home facility gave a good outcome in the elections.
If we talk about the regions with the highest and lowest vote percentage, Hyderabad has the lowest with 46.68 percent while Bhongir recorded the highest with 90.03 percent. It was a big shock that the capital city recorded the lowest vote percentage.
The polling percentage did not get the ideal start. In the initial hours of voting, less than nine percent was polled which picked up gradually. However, less turnout was recorded after 3 PM in the majority of the regions including the capital region.
Hyderabad has the trend of recording less vote percentage. In the 2018 elections, only 50.31 percent was recorded and in the recent polls, Hyderabad recorded just 46.56 percent. By noon only 20 percent of votes were polled in the capital which is very strange.
Observers want to see whether Hyderabad will pick up in the voting percentage at least this time given the high stakes of the polls. Pouring water of the hopes Hyderabad recorded the lowest vote percentage.
