A devastating motorcycle accident in Bridgeport, US, early Thursday morning claimed the lives of two individuals. The incident occurred around 1:05 a.m. on Waldemere Avenue and Atlantic Street when a man was found unresponsive in the grass beside a motorcycle.
Upon arriving at the scene, Bridgeport police discovered a man and a woman lying in the grass near 1080 Atlantic Street, adjacent to a motorcycle and safety poles. Despite the swift response of emergency services, both victims were tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, identified as 29-year-old Rohith Gurumurthy, a Telugu man from Bridgeport, was operating a 2016 black Ducati Scrambler 800. The passenger, 23-year-old Zaveriya Shaikh, also from Bridgeport, was accompanying him.
According to the investigation, Gurumurthy lost control of the motorcycle, veered onto the curb, and collided with the safety bollards, resulting in the fatal accident.
