Going into the story, on the occasion Sankranthi festival, six young men held a party in Bandavaddipalli village in Chittoor district. Two of them, Avalakunta Manikumar (34) and Vemula Pushparaj (26), competed to drink beer, consuming 19 bottles between 3 PM and 7:30 PM.
Due to excessive beer consumption, they suffered from dehydration and Manikimar died while being transported to the hospital, and Pushparaj died while undergoing treatment.
The other four, Avalakunta Shravan Kumar (23), Pasupuleti Shivamani (21), Avalakunta Venugopal (20), and Kotakonda Abhishek (18), who drank less beer, are fine. The two individuals who took part in the drinking competition and consumed 19 beers had died due to abusive alcohol exposure.
This horrifying incident has now grabbed the attention on social media, and it also advocates the need for responsible alcohol consumption amongst the general public.
