Now the IT notices hit the headlines and grabbed everyone's attention as a few famous temples in Telangana reportedly received notices. As per the media reports, the Income Tax Department has issued notices to the temples to pay taxes. The development became the talk of the town.
Media reports are abuzz that notices were sent to famous temples like Komuravelli Mallanna Swamy temple, Saraswati Ammavari Temple in Basara, and others. In the notices, the temples were reportedly directed to pay the tax as the payments were not made.
It has been widely reported that the Komuravelli Mallanna Swamy temple was asked to pay a sum of Rs 8 crores as tax and Rs 3 crores should also be paid as the tax was not paid on time.
The temples that are said to have received the notices are the famous temples in the state that see a large number of devotees daily. As the temples were served IT notices devotees were shocked and wonder how come the temples were served with notices.
It is known that temples are run by the state governments and the Endowments Department takes care of the activities in the temples. The income that comes and the expenditure made from the income are audited every year. Despite this, the temples are served IT notices reportedly.
