Tirumala Laddu Fiasco: ED Arrests Culprit, But…
The highly controversial Tirumala Laddu episode, which was politicised by certain entities to make it seem like animal fat was mixed in the Laddu making procedure has reached a new level.
The highly controversial Tirumala Laddu episode, which was politicised by certain entities to make it seem like animal fat was mixed in the Laddu making procedure has reached a new level.
The enforcement directorate, which was instructed to work on this case has come up with every significant piece of information. They have arrested a culprit associated with this development who had criminally substituted ghee with other impure ingredients in the process.
According to the latest reports, Sukriti Foods promoter Kailash Chand Mangla has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering probe related to alleged adulteration of ghee used in Tirupati Laddu prasadam.
The ED said the ghee supplied to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams as Agmark Special Grade Cow Ghee was allegedly produced using refined palm oil, palm kernel oil, palmolein and chemicals.
This would essentially mean that external ingredients were used in the preparation of the Tirumala Laddu, which is completely against the regulation, and that is the reason why this culprit has been arrested.
But as of now, there is no clear evidence are the establishment from the enforcement directorate with regard to the presence of animal fat or any impurities in the laddu process.
But it is extremely shocking to see that certain chemicals and external ingredients that were used in the preparation of the Tirumala Laddu were permitted in the first place. This is not what is expected from a government administration when it comes to giving tenders for holy Tirumala Laddu preparation.
It is also sad to see the sacred Tirumala Temple laddu becoming the central point of several political discussions these days. This is to be avoided at all costs at least from now on.
