In a shocking incident near Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, miscreants attempted to derail a train by placing a gas cylinder on the tracks. The incident occurred on Sunday evening at 8:20 PM when the Prayagraj Bhiwani Kalindi Express was approaching the Shivrajpur area.

The loco-pilot, noticing something suspicious on the track, applied emergency brakes to prevent a collision. Fortunately, the train managed to stop before hitting the gas cylinder, which was subsequently thrown about 50 meters away from the tracks. Despite the close call, the train remained unscathed.

The loco pilot immediately informed the railway guard, who filed a complaint with the local police. The Railway Protection Force and forensic experts arrived at the scene to investigate the matter. In addition to the destroyed gas cylinder, they discovered other suspicious items such as a petrol bottle, a lighter, and a bag.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the gas cylinder was deliberately placed on the track with the intent of derailing the train. The police are actively working to identify the culprits and bring them to justice. A conspiracy to sabotage the train using a petrol bomb is suspected.

Due to the incident, the Prayagraj Bhiwani Kalindi Express was delayed for approximately half an hour. Kanpur Police Commissioner Harish Chandra has stated that forensic investigations are underway and that security measures have been tightened on critical railway routes. A similar incident occurred in the past when a video surfaced of individuals pelting stones at the tracks of the Vande Bharat Express train in Uttar Pradesh.
