It is already known that the Iranian administration is looking to settle the conflict with the United States and related advancements are being made now. In this context, we have an interesting report regarding the neutralising of the nuclear abilities of Iran.

The United States, under President Donald Trump, has proposed a 15 point ceasefire plan to Iran in an effort to stop the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. This proposal was sent through Pakistan, which is acting as a mediator and may also host peace talks between the two countries.

A key part of the plan is a one month ceasefire. During this period, both sides are expected to stop attacks and begin serious negotiations based on the 15 point framework.

The plan mainly focuses on stopping Iran’s nuclear ambitions. The US wants Iran to completely halt uranium enrichment, dismantle its nuclear facilities, and agree not to develop nuclear weapons in the future.

Apart from this, the proposal also demands limits on Iran’s missile program and asks Iran to reduce its support to armed groups in the region. Another major condition is reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which is very important for global oil supply.

In return, the US has indicated that it may lift sanctions and support Iran’s civilian nuclear program under strict monitoring. However, Iran has not officially accepted the plan and has even denied that direct talks are happening. Overall, while this plan shows an attempt to reduce tensions, the situation remains uncertain as both sides still have major disagreements.
