There is a common perception that the President of the United States holds the most powerful position in the world as they can potentially dictate global politics. The same is to be understood if you look at the way that Donald Trump has been operating.

Recently, Donald Trump completed the conquering of Venezuela after he got the leader of the country arrested. Claims that Donald Trump is planning attacks on Syria, Cuba, Colombia and other nations are mostly speculative at this stage.

There is no official confirmation of any coordinated military action against these countries. However Trump’s foreign policy style has always leaned toward aggressive posturing maximum pressure and public threats rather than quiet diplomacy. This approach often creates the perception of a leader seeking global dominance rather than limited national interest.

Trump does not want to become a globe president in a literal sense but he does seek to project American supremacy. His worldview is rooted in the idea that the United States must act unilaterally when its economic or strategic power feels threatened. Sanctions, military pressure and regime change rhetoric are tools he has repeatedly used to signal strength to both domestic voters and global rivals.

Regarding the dollar there is some strategic logic. The US dollar’s dominance depends heavily on global confidence in American power institutions and enforcement mechanisms. When that dominance appears threatened by rising alternatives or de dollarization efforts Trump tends to respond with forceful actions. Pressure on countries that challenge US financial influence can be seen as an attempt to protect the dollar centered system. That said such tactics also increase instability. Military threats weaken trust strain alliances and accelerate the very shift away from the dollar that they aim to prevent. In trying to control everything America may end up controlling less.
