It's been around a decade since the bifurcation happened. Telangana was divided from the combined Andhra Pradesh back in 2014. Despite this, there are a few issues between the states which need to be settled. Issues like division of assets, water sharing, and funds are pending.
In what could be a big news Andhra Pradesh government received funds from the Telangana government. It is said that as many as Rs 2500 crores were reimbursed to the Andhra Pradesh government and the money was sent to the AP exchequer.
What happened can be seen as a big success for CBN and his government. In the last term, Jagan and KCR were CMs of AP and Telangana respectively. There was a perception that the Chief Ministers had good relations. KCR and KTR even predicted Jagan’s win in the recent elections.
Despite this, the issues were not sorted out between the states. However, things took a different turn with Chandrababu Naidu and Revanth Reddy becoming the Chief Ministers. It is said that the Union Finance Ministry gave directions in this regard.
TDP supported the NDA alliance at the centre and the BJP assured all the required help to the state. As part of this the Union Finance Ministry is said to have asked the Telangana government to transfer the money and the Andhra Pradesh government received the money.
It has to be mentioned here that earlier last month, Revanth Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu sat together for a meeting in the capacity of Chief Ministers. The Chief Ministers said that they would work on resolving the pending issues between the state and the money was transferred to Andhra Pradesh.
