The stage is set for the clash of two unbeaten teams for the winning glory. No, we are not talking about the T20 World Cup here. The Women’s Asia Cup’s final is slated for commencement. India and Sri Lanka have locked their spots in the final and they will lock horns with each other.

The journey of India and Sri Lanka to the finals has been similar with no defeats. Both teams recorded big wins against their opponents to reach the finals. In particular, India has been dominant throughout the league. In the Semi-final India defeated Bangladesh by 10 wickets.

Coming to Sri Lanka it recorded a thrilling victory against Pakistan. Skipper Chamari Athapaththu played a crucial innings in the low-scoring match while chasing. She had a good tournament so far as she is the leading run-scorer to the team.

India and Sri Lanka remained unbeaten in the league so far. But there is a lot of difference between the teams. India is strong in every department be it batting, bowling, and fielding. The major work is done by openers Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana. Down the order, we have skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues.

Bowlers have been dominant and they did not let any team spread arms so far. It would be a tough task for the Sri Lankan team to face the Indian bowling lineup. Sri Lanka is dependent on Chamari Athapaththu and if she fails to score runs then the match will go out of hands.

India had won seven Asia Cups in both formats out of eight finals played and Women In Blue entered the finals for the ninth time in the quest for an eighth title. Sri Lanka might face a tough challenge facing India.
