Union Budget Reflects The Mistakes It Had Learned?
The Union Budget gave a special focus on employment creation, internship opportunities, and special mention for first-time jobbers. These are seen as a damage control measure from the BJP.
BJP is known for its stubborn image and its actions boost the image. In the last two terms, we have seen how the party was firm in its decisions. BJP took a long time to repeal the farm laws despite farmer bodies sitting on the road to protest.BJP did what other parties could not even think of in dreams and revoked Article 370.
But things have changed and it appears that the BJP has learnt its mistakes and the Union Budget is dubbed as an example of this. To pacify the sections that were not happy with it the BJP gave provisions. This can be seen as an unexpected change from the BJP.
Unemployment issue played a key role in the elections. Opposition parties aggressively targeted the BJP on this and said that youth is not getting employment. There is an opinion that the Youth voters who were with BJP in 2014 and 2018 did not vote for the party this time.
The Union Budget gave a special focus on employment creation, internship opportunities, and special mention for first-time jobbers. These are seen as a damage control measure from the BJP.
Special allocations were made in the budget to facilitate employment and skills for the youth. Even first-time jobbers were given a facility by offering a one-month wage for freshers.
Employment opportunities would be created and they will be helped to upskill them. First-timers will get one month's wage. The internship was also mentioned with a stipend. These measures are dubbed as an approach to woo the youth again.
Another big surprise is that the Allies were not left this time. Both Andhra Pradesh and Bihar got special mentions in the budget. Rs 15000 cr was assured for Andhra Pradesh and the Finance Minister said that other help will also be given to the state.
As an example of the importance given to the two states in the budget, the Congress party said that the allies were appeased in the budget at the cost of other states. Rahul Gandhi made these comments after the Union Budget.
TDP was in alliance with the BJP in 2014 too. But no significant preference was given to the state which made TDP leave the alliance. This time the alliance parties were given good preference and the states are likely to get additional support in the future.
