It is already know that the United States immigration authorities have been imposing new regulations almost on a daily basis. They’re continuing on this path now as a new unit of regulations have been issued today.

According to the latest communication made by the United States Embassy, it has been mandated that all the new applicants of H1B and H4 visas must provide their online presence, including social media handles during the visa interview.

Beginning December 15, the Department of State expanded online presence reviews to ALL H-1B and H-4 applicants as part of standard visa screening. This vetting is being conducted globally for ALL applicants of ALL nationalities for H1-B and H-4 visas.

It is an effort to address abuse of the H-1B program while still permitting companies to hire the best of the best temporary foreign workers. U.S. embassies and consulates continue to accept and process H-1B and H-4 nonimmigrant visa applications.

We encourage applicants to apply as early as they can and anticipate additional processing time for these visa classifications, the communication from the United States embassy stated a short while back.

This regulation has been mandated by the United States immigration authorities, a long time ago, and it would add the long list of new restrictions brought up by Donald Trump administration.
