The kind of situations that the Indian population has been finding themselves in the United States under the Donald Trump administration has been beyond measure. It is turning out to be that things are not looking promising at all at this point in time.

On that note, we have something pretty interesting happening as the term administration has scrapped the work permit extension procedure immediately.

The Trump administration has moved to scrap a rule that lets H-1B and other skilled foreign workers routinely win extensions, and has made permanent a separate rule ending automatic renewals of work permits for spouses of H-1B workers and others.

On top of that, the Trump administration has ended a 540-day work permit extension for eligible immigrants awaiting renewals.

In a separate move, it has cut the time refugees have to challenge the termination of their status from 30 days to 10, drawing concern from refugee advocates. This has become major concern to the Indian community in the United States.

This would essentially mean that there would be no longer a leeway for the Indian working population and also the international immigration population with regard to work extension.

Previously, when renewal was pending, their visa used to be automatically enhanced by 540 days, giving the additional time to stay in the country. But that is not even remotely the case now as this extension has been removed effective immediately.
