There is huge talk in social media that TVK will come to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as well. Some are even predicting that anything could happen in politics, and Vijay’s entry might change the way politics in the Telugu states is done. Well, for a few folks who don't know how rooted Telugu politics are, unlike Tamil voters, who just look at the face of a star and ink their vote, it should be noted that Vijay’s entry into Telugu states doesn’t make sense in any way.
Consider this: TVK’s full form is Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, which means Tamil Nadu Victory Party, and what victory would a Tamil party get in the Telugu states, where the percentage of Tamil-speaking local crowds is not even 1% of the total population? That means the party name or its goals doesn’t even align with Telugu folks, including that party’s name. Like how the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi changed its name to Bharatha Rashtra Samiti and opened an office in Andhra, but got no takers, even TVK had to do such a stunt. Even Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party contested in the Telugu states a while ago, but never made the cut.
No matter how many caste equations exist, Telugu people want Telugu leaders for Telugu parties, except for Congress and BJP, which have existed for years in these states. Even AAP tried to enter the Telugu market, but people rejected it outright. Right now, the Janasena Party is unable to come to Telangana, forget about Vijay coming to the Telugu states.
For now, Vijay’s TVK’s win should be seen as the people of Tamil Nadu waiting for the change to happen, as both DMK and AIADMK have been ruling the state term by term for more than 50 years already. People from the Dravidian style of politics, and they want to see Vijay’s side of the promised Ambedkar-style of politics. And in the next five years, his governance style, his way of saving his state’s poor folks, and everything will come into the picture.
Rather than focusing on that, making inroads into AP and Telangana’s 2029 elections is simply foolish, and surely Vijay will not make such a move as long as Prashanth Kishor advises him properly.
