Vinesh Phogat’s Paris Olympics stint ended on a bad note. First, she was disqualified from the finals due to being overweight. Not happy with this he knocked on the doors of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to appeal the decision. However, the wrestler did not get the required relief.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) which was supposed to give its verdict before the Olympics ends had postponed the verdict. In what could be a big shock Vinesh Phogat’s plea was dismissed by the Sports body.

Just 100 grams changed everything for the wrestler. As she was 100 grams more than the limit she was disqualified. Media reports say that she was below the limit after the semis. However, her weight increased leading to her disqualification.

As reported by Business Today quoting Sportstar, the food she took might have played a key role in this. She took a glass of juice and fluids so that she could have the required energy for the bouts. With this, her weight increased by around 2 kilos.

On the other hand, the athlete took some snacks in the day which added 700 grams to her weight. All of these things led to Vinesh Phogat’s weight going up to 52.7kg from 49.9 kg.

With this, the wrestler did everything she could to reduce the weight. She did workouts and even went for a haircut. A small amount of blood was also removed from her body. Despite doing all of these she weighed 100 grams more than the limit.

She was disqualified for this. She knocked on the doors of the CAS only to get a big shock at the end.
