Washington 15-Year-Old Kills His Entire Family
Humiston faces five counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutors in Washington have charged 15-year-old Andrew Humiston with the murder of his parents and three siblings. The tragic event took place in Fall City, an affluent community near Seattle. Humiston faces five counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
The victims included Andrew’s parents, Mark and Sarah Humiston, and his siblings, aged 7, 9, and 13. An 11-year-old sister, though injured, managed to survive by pretending to be dead. She later escaped through a window and sought help from a neighbor.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and is currently held in juvenile detention. Authorities plan to request the case be moved to adult court, which could lead to a sentence of 25 years to life if convicted.
The 11-year-old sister informed investigators that the gun used belonged to their father and that Andrew was the only child who knew the combination to the lockbox where it was stored. Despite the severity of the case, the suspect's attorneys emphasized that their client had no prior criminal record and was presumed innocent until proven guilty.
