It is sad to note that Kerala is one of the few states in India which are often hit by natural disasters during the monsoon season and the same scenario has unfolded again this year.

A CCTV camera captured the terrifying moment a massive landslide struck Kerala's Wayanad district following incessant heavy rainfall, leaving three persons dead and triggering a large-scale rescue operation.
The incident occurred near Meenakshi Bridge at Kalladi, close to the under-construction Anakkompoyil–Meppadi tunnel road project, where several workers were present when the landslide struck.
The footage shows the hillside collapsing within seconds, sending huge volumes of mud and debris crashing onto the construction site and nearby areas, causing panic among workers and bystanders.
Rescue teams were immediately deployed to the site and are continuing search operations for those feared trapped under the debris. The injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment, while authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
As of now, three people are suspected to be dead while seven others are believed to be injured in this accident. The precise number regarding this accident are likely to come up in the due course.
