Who Can Be The Ruler Of Kurnool MP Segment In 2024?

Kurnool is a historic city which is often referred to as The Gateway of Rayalaseema. Kurnool often gets high importance in films. Whenever the makers need a strong backdrop they go for the city. Even in the political spectrum, it has a lot of importance. Former CM and Union Ministers represented the seat.

As the elections are approaching a big debate is going on about who would win the Kurnool MP segment. The reason behind the debate is that the three parties fielded new faces as the candidates, making the flight interesting. YCP, TDP, and Congress are in the race.

While the ruling YCP fielded B.Y. Ramaiah as the candidate, TDP announced Nagaraju and the Congress party announced Rampullaiah. They are new faces and a big debate is going on about who can be the ruler of the Kurnool MP segment.

Looking at the history of the seat, the Congress dominated the seat. In the combined state, the party won as many as 13 times. Congress opened its account in the segment in 1957, the second Lok Sabha elections and since then it won 13 times till 2009.

Former CM of combined AP Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy represented the seat and his son Kotla Jayasurya Prakasha Reddy also won the seat.

On the other hand, TDP won twice. The grand old party won the elections in 1984 and 1999. Talking about the ruling YCP, it won twice in 2014 and 2019. Sanjeev Kumar won the 2019 polls. But he resigned from the party giving a big shock and with this, the party announced a new candidate.

As D-Day is arriving, we have to wait and see who among the new faces would win. We will get clarity on this in June. Let us wait and see to know who will be the ruler of Kurnool.
