Fish lovers eagerly wait for the Pulasa Fish for monsoon season. Pulasa is seen as a Royal dish given its rich flavour. It is not like any other Fish and it costs a bomb. Despite this, people prefer Pulasa. In the months of August and September, the fish swim towards Godavari and this is the best time to catch it.

The fishes are found mostly in Godavari. Pulasa is said to have been found in limited numbers and in one instance the fish was sold at Rs 24,000. Despite searching for it all day it was not found.

Over the years the population of Pulasa which is also called Queen Of The Fish is coming down gradually. This time the situation is even more concerning is what the locals say.

It is said that locals believe Pulasa fish are not coming the Godavari way and they are wondering when Pulasa comes to Godavari. There are said to be various reasons behind this.

Experts wonder whether reasons like pollution might have played a key role in this and forced Pulasa to change its direction and move to other regions. This is not good news for the Fish lovers who wait for the season to taste it.

Even the locals wonder why Pulasa is not coming. So far only a limited number of fish have been found as per the reports. Now we have to wait and see if Pulasa comes to Godavari even next year.

What makes Pulasa a costly fish is that the seawater fish species start migration in the Monsoon for breeding. Many say that the taste the fish gets is due to traveling in Fresh water and salt waters. As it can be found in Monsoon only people won't bother spending big amounts.
