Union Home Minister and BJP biggie Amit Shah is finding his Khammam tour a jinxed one. On two earlier occasions, his tour was finalized but something or the other cropped up forcing him to cancel his visit to Telangana. Interestingly, on both occasions, Khammam was chosen as the venue for his programmes.
Firstly, Amit Shah was to visit Khammam and address a massive rally to coincide with the joining of former MP Ponguleti. However, Ponguleti had other ideas and hence chose to join the Congress instead of the BJP. As a result, the proposed meeting was put off by the BJP state leaders.
The second time Amit Bhai’s programme cancellation happened was when cyclone Biparjoy struck the Gujarat coast. Amit Shah had to cancel his programme scheduled for July 29 and had to rush to Gujarat to oversee the relief and rescue operations in the cyclone hit state. The BJP was particular that Gujarat needed his presence more than Khammam.
Now, Amit Shah is set to tour Khammam on August 27. A huge public meeting is being planned. The party cadres are trying to mobilise the party’s supporters and sympathisers. It remains to be seen if this programme too would get cancelled due to some reason or the other.
