Winning Huzurabad Tough For Etela Rajender This Time?

Etela Rajender is a strong leader in Telangana who doesn't need any introduction. He played an active role in the state bifurcation movement and has been with the BRS since the early days. Later he won the elections and was made a Cabinet Minister in the BRS government.

But the status quo between him and the party changed due to various reasons and he left the party for BJP. His resignation created a space for the By-elections in the Huzurabad seat. It was an intense battle but Etela emerged victorious. There is no doubt in saying that his image played a big role in this.

However, political observers say that winning the Huzurabad seat might be tough for Etela. A triangle fight is expected to happen in Huzurabad and Etela might lose with this. Etela would face two strong candidates in the fight and might face a tough time in the election battle.

Talking about the ruling BRS, firebrand leader Padi Koushik Reddy was fielded in the seat. He is aggressive and gives his best in the campaign activities. Moreover, the BRS which failed to defeat Etela in the by-election might go all out in putting in the best efforts.

On the other hand, it is being said that Captain V. Lakshmikantha Rao’s family members might get a ticket from the seat. The senior leader earlier won the elections from the seat in the combined state and has a good image among the people there. His image and legacy as a former MLA in the constituency would make a strong force.

It will be a triangular fight in the elections as three big names will lock horns. Given this, the political observers say that it will not be easy this time for the former Minister to win the polls.

It has to be mentioned here that Etela said he will contest in two seats. The observers look at this as a safety step to have a second seat as a backup. However, the BJP's high command is yet to take a call on this. We might get clarity on this once the BJP announces the candidates' list.
