The former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan held an explosive press conference today, and he was absolutely belligerent with the same. Here is a look at the explosive statements made by the YSRCP chief.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, president of the YSR Congress Party and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, launched a sharp attack on the ruling coalition over their commitment to Amaravati and the state’s administration.
Jagan questioned the physical presence of the three key leaders in the capital. He pointed out that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu splits his time between Amaravati and Hyderabad, spending roughly two days away and five days in the capital each week.
Minister Nara Lokesh, he said, is present for barely four days a week at best. As for Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Jagan remarked that nobody even knows when he shows up. He further criticized the government for providing each of these leaders with separate private aircraft at public expense.
Turning to the Amaravati capital city project, Jagan asked a pointed question. The same assembly that passed legislation preventing a future change of capital can equally pass amendments to that very law. He challenged Chandrababu Naidu to explain why that option is being ignored.
Jagan also questioned the pace of development in Amaravati, noting that Naidu has been in power for seven years across different tenures and yet construction across the one lakh acre capital region remains largely incomplete.
Closing his remarks, Jagan clarified the YSRCP’s position. His party, he said, is not against Amaravati specifically, nor is it against any region of Andhra Pradesh. The YSRCP has always stood for balanced development across the entire state, in the past, present, and future.
