Father Or Son, Who Will Be Kamalapuram YCP Candidate?
A few surveys also said that the YCP is in a better position than the other parties and would win the elections
Andhra Pradesh is one of the poll-bound states which will go for the general elections. As per the schedule, the elections might be held next year. The ruling YSRCP which won the 2019 elections with a super margin is aiming to repeat the same in the next elections.
A few surveys also said that the YCP is in a better position than the other parties and would win the elections. When a positive air is flowing towards the party, there is no clarity on the candidates who would get the party tickets for the next elections.
Making the upcoming elections interesting, it is said that a few leaders are showing interest in giving a chance to their heirs and taking a back step. It has been reported that a few leaders are already busy making efforts and getting a ticket for their heirs.
Amid this, an interesting debate is going on about who would be the candidate from the Kamalapuram seat. P Ravindranath Reddy, who is the uncle of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is the serving MLA there and he won the elections from the Telangana seat in 2014 and the 2019 elections.
A heated debate is going on about whether P Ravindranath Reddy would be the candidate or his son Pochimareddy Ramanjula Reddy would be made to fight his first elections. Both possibilities have some reasons to back and this is making the debate interesting.
P Ravindranath Reddy started his career with the Congress party and held various posts. After Jagan floated his YCP, he joined it and contested the 2014 and 19 elections. So the 2024 elections will mark the third election as an MLA and many say that he is reportedly thinking of achieving a hat trick of wins.
On the other hand, the second possibility is that the MLA reportedly wants to make his son run the elections and he wants to take a back step. As the family is into business as well, Ravindranath Reddy is said to be in plans to make his son an MLA. He is a ZPTC member now and might run the elections.
Ramanjula Reddy is reportedly touring the constituency aggressively, adding fuel to the debate. However, will the YCP leadership give a chance to a youngster is the question here.
