At the end of all the huffing and puffing, the YSRTP, the party led by YS Sharmila, supporting the Congress party unconditionally has come as an anti-climax. The party hoped for some kind of seat adjustment with the Congress. Later, it came down a step further and got ready to support the Congress in lieu of Paler's seat. But, finding that there are no takers for even this offer, Sharmila unconditionally withdrew from the Telangana contest.

This 'daughter-in-law of Telangana' has all but wound up her party. The effort, of months of grueling padayatras, spate of acerbic press conferences, has literally gone down the drain. At the end of it all, YS Sharmila has ended up as a rolling stone that gathered no mass.

In all this, the political maturity and calculations of YS Jagan proved quite right. Jagan did not extend any support to Sharmila's Telangana adventurism. The YSRCP totally dissociated itself from her activities. He preferred to have cordial relations with the ruling BRS in Telangana rather than antagonize it.

Sharmila has now ended up with the ignominy of supporting the very same Congress Party that opposed her father and put her brother in jail. What more? She could not extract any kind of concessions from the Congress Party in return for her support. She finally ended up losing the aura of being YSR's daughter, claimant to YSR's legacy and the member of victimized YSR family.
