The number of heat crimes and also police activities against the Indian community in the United States has been on a shocking scale these days. Now here is a case of an Indian guy who was arrested in the United States, but was later found not to be guilty.

A pre med student on an F1 visa in the United States was recently arrested after a store security guard accused him of shoplifting. The student said he was innocent and that he had already bought items worth around one hundred dollars, with a proper receipt to prove it.

Still, the police took him into custody, recorded his fingerprints and processed the case as a criminal incident. After this, his visa was cancelled even though he continued to remain active in the university’s student system.

Later, the court dropped the case under a process where the government decides not to continue prosecution. This means the student was not found guilty, but the arrest still remains on his record.

Because of this, he may face problems in the future when applying for a new visa or when he needs to travel outside the country. Visa officers can deny applications even if a case was cleared.

The report also highlights that many international students are facing similar issues. Even small mistakes or misunderstandings can impact their visa status. Students are advised to be extremely careful with their daily activities and keep all documents safe. One simple incident can affect their education and long term plans in the United States.
